Poor Perry. Such a gentle soul who we wish could tell us about his life. He was found lying in the street in a neighborhood, too worn out to move. His plight caught the attention of many, but no one came to claim him. So off to rescue he went. He gets along well with everyone, doesn't mind other dogs or cats, and tolerates baths really well. He does get a little nervous about car rides but settles down after a little bit. He is not a big walker but we're trying to change that for his health.

Special Medical Information:
Vet verdict: He needs to lose about 40 pounds (no surprise there). He did turn out to be heartworm negative (big shock to us). He had horrific ear infections that he got treated today. He has multiple meds, some for pain on his joins, others for his skin. He is neutered. We had senior blood panel done to check for other issues so we won't know those details for about a week. He has to go back June 1 for a full dental (nasty teeth).

Our adoption process is three-fold: submit an application, meet the pet, then arrange for us to do your in-home interview.
Adoption Fees:
Kittens: $60, Cats (1 year plus): $50, Puppies: $250, Adult Canines (1 to 6 years): $200, Seniors (7 years plus): $100 (unless otherwise specified). Adoption fees are not a tax-deductible donation as allowed by IRS regulations. Adoption fees help to offset the cost of the pet's care incurred by Coastal Pet Rescue, which are generally 2 to 3 times the adoption fee amount.
Some special circumstances may change the fee; see pet's listing for actual adoption fee.

All Coastal Pet Rescue pets are current on shots, microchipped* and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters are responsible for any shots that may be due after adoption (particularly for kittens and puppies that must have three rounds of shots to be protected).

Microchip:
CPR has implanted a microchip as part of the adoption process and the chip is included in the adoption fee. However, some chip companies require a registration fee varying from $9.99 to $19.99. The registration fees are the responsibility of the adopter and are NOT included in the CPR adoption fee. Adopters may add this cost to their adoption fee to have CPR register the chip on their behalf.

30 Days Pet Insurance:
As a Petfinder member, all adopters are entitled to a free 30 day insurance policy through PetFirst. Coastal Pet Rescue is not responsible for this policy. Adopters must call PetFirst’s toll-free number 855-710-7387 to activate the coverage. If adopters fail to call, the policy will not be activated.

About Coastal Pet Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Coastal Pet Rescue is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless, abused and neglected animals in the coastal areas of Georgia, South Carolina and Florida. Our goal is to save as many pet lives as possible through rescue and to provide opportunities to the public to become better pet guardians.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our pets all live in our homes, so adoption applications must be submitted for appointments to be made to see the pets. We also have them with us at our outdoor events, so view our "events" calendar on our website for those dates and locations.
