Avon's Story...
**IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ - Due to the nature of our adoption process, this foster is only able to consider forever families within 30 miles from zip code 75082. A vet reference and trial adoption will be done before the adoption is finalized. Thank you for your understanding.

My name is Avon, I am an 8-month-old 55lb purebred red Doberman girl with a lot of love to give. I grew up in a house as spoiled as can be but then my family decided to move to Germany and said I couldn’t go with them. So they took me to a shelter and that’s where my foster parents found me. In my foster home, I start my day by playing with my foster siblings when my humans wake up and play with them until I can barely stand because I am sooo tired. I love all dogs, from tiny Chihuahuas to bigger dogs like me, so I can pretty much have fun with anyone. I also like cats and kids of all ages. When I was little, my parents sent me to a professional trainer so that I would learn manners, so now I can be around anyone since I know how to behave. My foster parents were extremely relieved to know I don’t jump on people, ever, because I know I’m too big for that. They were also happy to find out I know how to ring a bell when I want to go potty outside. Really I am just scoring all kinds of brownie points with them because of my training. Now I am just hoping to find my perfect home that will love me forever, so that I can go on walks, play fetch, and be a caring loyal dog to my new humans. If you think you can be that family, please fill out an application at furryfriendsanimalrescue.org and my foster parents will contact you to plan a meet & greet. P.S. The app is not a commitment to adopt me, it is just a means of introduction so I can get to know you better.

Anyone interested in our dogs must be over 21. We are only able to adopt to homes within a reasonable driving distance of the dog's foster home (zip 75082) and please be prepared for a home visit by one of our volunteers. We do not adopt on first-come-first-served basis, we want to make sure the dog is right for the family and vice versa based on what we know about the dog's personality, habits and behaviors. Our adoption fee for dogs is $175.

You can complete an online adoption application on our website http://www.furryfriendsanimalrescue.org- we will get back with you asap.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Avon, a Plano Doberman Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Doberman Pinscher for sale in Plano, or seeking a Doberman Pinscher dog from a breeder in Plano.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Plano already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Plano breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Doberman Pinscher breeders who help with Doberman Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Plano paves the way for another one to be saved.
