We have NO idea how we still have this beauty! Luna is a wonderful girl! She definitely has the cattle dog ears, which we love, and is sweet and happy and content doing whatever you want! She is about six months old and will be a little taller and slimmer girl (right now she weighs about 28 pounds). She loves to play and get pets and be close to you! She is well behaved around other dogs and does love kids. She was a total hit at the adoption event and is so amazing. She is good energy and high happiness, ready for a hike or a jaunt around town! She is up for anything, even a movie as long as it comes with snuggles! Though she is a cattle dog, she does not have that same drive, but rather wants to be with you and get love! She is calmer and does not herd. She is simply sweet and happy and loving! Luna is going to be an amazing companion animal!!

About LightShine Canine: A Rez Dog Rescue - Colorado Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a dog rescue focused on the Pine Ridge and Rosebud Indian Reservations and the nearby border towns. At LightShine Canine we bring the heart of the Lakota and the needs of the dogs together. Our goal is to rescue stray, abandoned, injured or abused dogs on the Pine Ridge Reservation with the help of Lakota youth and adults working on sobriety...and to find these dogs forever homes. Our adoption fees help us continue to do this and to provide community outreach to Tribal members in the form of dog food, vaccines and spay/neuter. Our dog rescue work program is geared to ensure that the dogs we rescue and the Lakota who assist us with this dream are changed forever. Our Adoption Process...

Once you have selected the puppy or dog you are most interested in, an initial questionnaire is done. Then, a phone interview may be conducted. A reference from a Vet or another organization you have adopted from in the past will be needed and a home check may be required.

Our adoption fee is $350 and a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit is required. An adoption contract will need to be signed with a "no later than" agreed-upon date for spay and neuter. Spayed and neutered dogs are $350. All of our dogs come with 30 days of pet insurance as well.
