Daffy is a sweet terrier mix who is a year old and 29 pounds. She was rescued out of a local kill shelter and has been with us since winter of 2016. Daffy had a broken front leg which she has mended from but she still limps a bit when she has played hard. Daffy is very sweet but wasn't socialized well and can be afraid of new things and people. Because of this, she would do best in a quiet home with no small children and someone who can give her a lot of attention (and socialization). She also will require a home with other dogs as she does best when she is around other friendly dogs. Daffy is crate trained and has had no accidents in the house (but we keep ours dogs on a very strict potty schedule). Daffy walks well on a leash, enjoys toys and actually likes hoarding toys. Daffy does well in a fenced yard for play time (no barking, jumping or digging) and enjoys inside quiet time. Daffy has had a rough life and she is now searching for someone who is willing to be her Angel and love her like she deserves. If you are interesting in making Daffy a part of your home, please email info.caresga@gmail.com and request an adoption application. You may also go online at http://www.caresga.org/adoption-application and download an app. A vet reference is required to ensure a great home. We DO adopt up north and all over so just ask for details.
Adoption fees for puppies are $350, juveniles are $300, adults dogs are $250 and senior dogs are $150. This includes each animal being current on age appropriate vaccinations including DHPPL, bordetella and rabies, de-wormed for any internal parasites (round worms, hook worms, tape worms and whipworms), tested heart-worm negative (if positive, they are treated), tested negative for tick borne diseases, spayed/neutered, implanted with a mini micro-chip and have been examined by a veterinarian to certify that they are healthy. All animals are also on a monthly regime of flea and heartworm medication. Lifetime registration for the micro-chip is included in each adoption fee. In addition, each adopter will go home with a fitted collar, tags, a bag of dog food the pet has been on, Forti-Flora, and an adoption kit filled with valuable information and coupons as well as other various treats or toys as promotions become available. All puppy adoptions include a puppy training book, the Puppy Primer by Patricia McConnell, to help ensure a smooth transition for your new family member.
We ask that you consider an additional donation on top of this pet's adoption fee. This money will go directly into our Adoption Fund to be used exclusively for rescuing and caring for other pets in need. Many pets we take in have very high vet bills to get them healthy and adoptable for the public - much higher than their adoption fees. We receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from our community and caring adopters to continue our rescue efforts!
