When we are asked about a special rescue pup that is snuggly, sweet and very loving, we can't help but think of Lady. Her smile is shining...and she's a world class lap dog.
Lady's foster mom knows it's morning when Lady's little head comes under the blanket...getting closer and closer..and then a big kiss and a wag of delight. This curious and really, really smart 2.5 year old, 12 lb Maltipoo is such a great size..perfect for walks, playtime and just right to take everywhere a sweet pup is welcome.
Lady is a truly great companion...she absolutely loves female humans and other gentle dogs and cats. Somewhere along the line however, it appears that Lady had an awful experience with a male...it left her not caring for men. To respect her fear...we'll only consider a home for Lady with a female guardian.
We picture Lady as the best friend to an active retiree. She'd be so loyal.. and overjoyed to share her love and good will. There's also no question that Lady would be the most popular girl on the block. Once comfortable, she loves to engage and just be her entertaining, adorable self. Even though Lady is usually up for pretty much any activity, she's not pushy or yappy. Exercise..perhaps long, leisurely walks to socialize with neighbors..and mental stimulation that comes from time spent with her family will keep Lady happy and fulfilled.
Lady derives so much joy from her relationships, we would love to see her in an active family that just loves her dearly...she's a great dog who deserves this in her life. It's also true that Maltese/Poodles are wonderful. They tend to be so cute, on the mellow side and the most devoted of companions. If you combine that with the positive energy and inquisitive nature of all dogs... you end up with a wonderful family member.
Lady has been described by her New Mexico foster as a great all around girl. She's house trained, crate trained, completely trustworthy in the home...and is a loyal and very loving companion to her foster mom, her 18 year old daughter and their 2 dogs and 2 cats.
Lady is a non-shedder...Maltipoos are known to be among the most hypoallergenic of dog breeds. Lady will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her coat cottony-soft and matt-free.
