My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Theodore is the sweetest dog, he is approx 5-6 yrs old and 20 lbs. He is very shy and timid and takes a little while to warm up to a new environment. We are not sure of his breed, but we think he looks like a tibetan terrier mix /maybe some lhasa. We don't know what happened previously in this little boy's life, but he is very quiet and well behaved. He took a couple of weeks to start playing with the other dogs and his toys, but now just loves to go out to the yard and play. He gets along great with everyone, seems to be pretty well house trained, does well on a leash. Because he is a timid no children under 12 years of age.

The total adoption donation of $525 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. The application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/

Just as a note, if you are in Massachusetts and are adopting directly from Texas rather than from a local foster, there are new quarantine laws in effect. All rescues must be quarantined 48 hours at a state run facility, and in addition, a second interstate health certificate is required to be issued by a Massachusetts vet. This new law may add an additional cost.
