My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Whenever a Poodle or Schnauzer mix gets into an urgent situation, Farfel's rescuers like to help. We find that dogs of these breed mixes are loving, super- smart and wonderful best friends. They tend to fit well into a family setting and make excellent companions for virtually every activity.

When Farfel's got word that Dublin was in need of rescue and had passed his temperament testing with flying colors, we immediately stepped up. He was found running along the highway and was very happy to allow himself to be caught. Dublin was brought to a foster home to be loved and to wait for a family to step up to claim him. This never occurred and Dublin (being so sweet) earned a ticket to a new life in Colorado.

Dublin is just about 12 - 18 months old...such a great age - old enough to understand adult skills and young enough to be a blank slate just waiting for guidance to be a great companion out in the world. Dublin weighs 10 lbs..a perfect weight to accompany his family just about anywhere. At the end of the day, he's the greatest lap dog and couch companion ever.

Dublin is a great student and just waiting for a forever family to teach him the wonders of his world. If he is trained with positive reinforcement group training classes (Farfel's is happy to provide a list of force-free trainers in your area), and given lots of kind attention, socialization with both humans and other dogs...he will turn into a self-confident guy who will be a wonderful companion. Dublin has all the elements working in his favor since he's starting out with a great temperament and a puppy-like desire to please.

Farfel's would like to place Dublin in a home with either retirees or a very involved family with older and very gentle kids who are motivated to provide him with physical exercise and mental stimulation. With love and consistency, Dublin will also be comfortable with being alone and know that his family will always return. He'll learn this with consistent behavior and kind boundaries present in his life.

Dublin appears to be a non-shedding (or very lightly shedding) guy and will therefore require periodic grooming and excellent nutrition (a salmon oil supplement would be a great addition to a healthy diet) to keep his cotton-soft coat healthy, cottony-soft and matt-free.

Dublin will be arriving in Denver unfixed due to too many dogs and not enough vets in this very poor area of New Mexico. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Dublin's neuter and microchip if our Denver vet is used.

Dublin will be arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 6/3/17. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and devoted best friend and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7711.
