BIG RED is a really special guy. He's a large cat with a regal and beautiful big face, but he's so gentle, and he loves to climb up onto your shoulders so he can nuzzle your hair, and put his face next to yours. He also likes to talk, but not too much, and although he loves attention he isn't needy. We think he would be a good inside or inside outside cat. So far he has been good with other cats too.
This lover boy came to us while we were trapping cats to fix them and one of the trapped cats was meowing because it was scared. Big Red came running out of nowhere like SuperCat to the rescue! Of course then we managed to get hold of  him and he was neutered. Usually, he got an infection from the neuter site so stayed with us and was the best patient. Now he is healthy and ready to do to his forever home.

About For The Cats' Sake

About Our Rescue Group...

For The Cats' Sake was founded in 2014 in response to a need for TNR in Rappahannock County, Virginia. Since that time, we have encountered many situations where there is no place for the cats to be returned. In other instances the cats are friendly or there are momma cats too pregnant to be spayed, or young kittens that are adoptable, but need socialization and foster care. Currently we have about 40 cats and kittens in foster care being prepared for adoption. All felines are Up to Date on vaccinations and tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV. Depending on age at time of adoption, they are also Spayed/Neutered.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our foster homes are in Flint Hill and Culpeper VA.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process begins with an application which includes vet references and landlord permission for renters. Potential adopters are encouraged to visit the cats/kittens in their foster homes so they see them in a comfortable situation. In many instances a volunteer will deliver the cat/kitten to their new home to assist the family in preparing their home getting the adoption off to a good start. There are no set fees, we request a donation.
