Sammy is a sweet, calm, 8 year old, Pug/Chihuahua mix that is fondly called a Chuggle. He weighs 11 pounds and he has short, cream colored hair and big, expressive brown eyes and little ears give him a funny little look on an adorable body and face. Sammy came to us because his elderly owner passed away and we have found him to be the perfect gentleman.  He is completely house trained to go outside but will use training pads if the necessity arises.  He is quiet and well behaved in a crate, but he has such wonderful house manners that he does not have to be crated when left alone in the house.  He is used to being taken out on a leash but also loves the freedom of a fenced yard.  Sammy's owner was an older lady and Sammy does love women.  He is very attached to his foster mom and loves to sleep next to her in the bed.  He is a lap dog, who would happily spend his days laying in the lap of his favorite person. Sammy gets along well with all people and dogs but he would also be fine with being an only dog.  He is looking for a quiet home perhaps with an empty nest couple or a retired mom that can spend a lot of time with him. He will bark a little but not much and he is most calm and sweet boy ever.  Talking walks are great for him because he does so well on a leash!  An apartment lifestyle is fine for him. He adores company and would be the best companion a person could want in this world.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or

About Critter Cavalry Rescue New England - VT

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a group of dedicated rescue people who want to save as many dogs and cats from the local shelters before they are euthanized. On the average....there are only 1 out of 10 animals that get adopted from a shelter. We are dedicated to helping increase pet adoptions by offering a shelter animal a foster home to go to while awaiting an adoptive family to find them on our Petfinder website. Won't you please adopt a shelter animal? Or won't you please help us foster a shelter animal while we are looking for their perfect home? What a gift you can give a dog or cat by giving them a place to feel safe and secure....a forever home or a foster home. Won't you help us at Critter Companion Rescue give them a chance to have a life?

Our Adoption Process...

Most all our dogs are fostered in Tennessee and transport up to the Northeast or New England. Our fees start at $500 and can be higher depending on the dog and circumstances for their vetting. All fees cover the health certificate, transportation up to designated places for families to pick up their pre-adopted dog, spay/neuter, rabies, all shots, fecal and dewormings, microchip, complete vet check up and 4 way heartworm test if dogs are older than 8 months.
