Harvey's Story...
Handsome Harvey came to us infested with ticks and a little on the thin side. With no prior knowledge of his past we provided him with the best all-star treatment and love we can! We tell people all the time, "You can't go wrong when adopting a hound, they are the most thankful and forgiving there is!" Harvey can be a tad shy at first but once outside he is a total ham! He enjoyed romping around with Staff Member's dog Baby Cora during his photo shoot! He may need a bit more help building his confidence and working on leash manners as he transitions to being a house dog, but other then that Harvey is just the perfect dog for any family! Harvey is a hound mix, estimated to be around 2 years old, and weighs 47 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on all vaccines and is heartworm negative. If you think you would be interested in making Harvey a member of your family please give us a call at 757-365-6318 or email at animalservices@isleofwightus.net

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Harvey, a Windsor Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Windsor, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Windsor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Windsor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Windsor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Windsor paves the way for another one to be saved.
