Important Note

Brodie is best friends with Bindi. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
Brodie was rescued with her mom and four siblings. Shortly after the rescue, the kittens developed panluekopenia. Despite heroic efforts by the staff at CARE, 3 of the kittens did not survive. Brodie and her brother Bindi were critical for several days but managed to turn the corner. However their weakened condition set them up for upper respiratory viral infection. Despite their rough start in life, they are sweet, affectionate, active, playful kittens. In addition to their own games, they love chasing wand toys, climbing on the cat tree and watching birds. They especially enjoy chasing the cursor on the computer screen and have almost placed some online orders. Brodie is a bit more reserved and timid than Bindi. With all they have been through, they are very bonded and need to be adopted together. They seem to enjoy other cats but have not had the opportunity to meet any dogs yet. Please take a moment to review the profile for Bindi as well.

About Saving Southern Kitties

About Our Rescue Group...

Saving Southern Kitties is a new South Carolina rescue devoted to saving cats and kittens from high kill and rural shelters, where euthanasia rates are extremely high. At Saving Southern Kitties, under the leadership of Susan Schreck, we are making a difference of the lives of cats who have no voice.

At Saving Southern Kitties we focus our efforts on those cats and kittens which are never seen on the adoption floors at these shelters and are labeled "rescue only". Shelters do not usually have space to put all of the cats on the adoption floor and must decide which ones don't make the cut. Usually it's those who aren't super fancy, have a sniffle, or are thing from being a stray for too long. Oftentimes, they are only given a few days to get out by a rescue group or be euthanized. We are their only chance at finding a forever family. We spend the money needed to make them healthy and adoptable. Because of this, our average dollar amount spent per cat is quite high. We aim to keep our adoption prices very reasonable!

Saving Southern Kitties is making a difference for these precious lives, one at a time! MEOW Y'ALL!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Some of our kitties are housed at the Adoption Center inside of Petsmart at the Rivergate Shopping Center. The Adoption Center is staffed by Saving Southern Kitties Volunteers, seven days a week. Each Saturday, from 1 pm until 6 pm, we hold an adoption fair and kitties that are housed with our foster families come to Petsmart to meet and greet their potential families! Our Petsmart is located at 14137 Rivergate Parkway
Charlotte, North Carolina 28273. We can also arrange for private meet and greet sessions as needed.

Our Adoption Process...

Saving Southern Kitties requires completion of an adoption application, initially. We thoroughly review the application which includes: Veterinary References, Personal References, Home Ownership Verification, Verification of Pet Policy with Landlord for those renting homes and a home visit. Our average adoption fee is $125.00 but can vary. We also require completion of an adoption agreement if the adoption application is approved.
