My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There's nothing quite like young energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm doggie breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think that they're homeless in rural Colorado.

A kind rescuer temporarily took Blossom in to prevent her from the horrors of a high-kill shelter...and realized that the greatest gift she could give this baby was a transport to Boulder with every possibility for a new life.

Farfel's Rescue was told about the great personality and over- the- top cuteness of this special puppy and made the decision to help Blossom find her first ever forever family. She deserves a great home and loving guardian just as much as any other sweet puppy with a great temperament (she passed her temperament testing with flying colors).

Blossom, at just about 7 weeks old and about 5 lbs (estimated to be approximately 35 - 40 lbs when full-grown), was facing the possible end of her life just as it was beginning. This sweet and engaging Australian Cattle Dog/Rottweiler mix is a new breed mix that we're seeing more and more... (they're loved for their super-soft coats and very engaging personalities) is starting out with great energy. Her sweetness and silly, fun-loving personality ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a new life. Blossom is also very beautiful...with the gorgeous tri-colored markings and shining, cottony-soft coat that speaks of her breed mix.

Blossom is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. She's also bright and so loving (loves to cuddle in your lap-but watch out..puppy energy may call). Since Blossom is such a young girl, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome companion. Blossom will form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs and humans) and learn positive socialization skills through being exposed to many different situations out in the world. Puppy kindergarten is a great start for any dog (Farfel's is happy to supply a list of pre-approved positive reinforcement trainers in your area). It does take a bit of time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the outside world with appropriate behavior.

We're very open to Blossom finding her forever home with active retirees who have the time and desire to train and love a young puppy. A family with gentle, dog-loving kids who have lots of energy to train and enjoy a puppy would be great as well. Blossom is known to love gentle children and other dogs/cats are great fun for playtime and companionship.

Blossom is up to date on her vetting, but has yet to be spayed. We're hoping that she will be fixed when she arrives from rural Colorado, however a puppy like Blossom is often deemed too young to fix. If this is the case, Farfel's will cover all costs for Blossom to be spayed and micro chipped at our vet in Denver to be in line with our commitment to be a part of the solution to pet overpopulation.

Blossom will be arriving on transport in Denver on Monday 6/5/17 (or a few days later). If interested in this beautiful and very sweet and engaging best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
