I am writing to tell you how much better I am feeling since my ear surgery. I am glad it is over. My CSAC friend says I am a really happy girl now that I have no pain. You know I am not a spring chicken, but my good friend says I truly don't act my age. I LOVE walks and exploring, and wow, when I see a squirrel I am a puppy again! Cats get me pretty excited, too. Guess I am young in spirit.
I so want to find a new family to love me and take care of me like my parents did. I am sad that we had to part, but I am excited to meet my new people and show them how wonderful I am. I will love you so very much and keep you company. I like the sofa!! Please ask about me. I promise I will be your special gal and make you happy.
Love and kisses - Missie

Great news! The most excellent veterinarian was able to remove the large mass in my ear WITHOUT having to remove any of my ear, and the biopsy came back benign. My healing is taking a little time because I was left with a large patch that needs to heal. I am waiting for my new family. How about you?
MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION:
Hi Everyone! My name is Missie, and I just arrived at CSAC from a shelter. I had really nice owners who took very good care of me, but they had to go into care, and I could not go. I am 15 turning 16 in September. I really need a kind person to finish what my orginal owners started - give me a loving home and the medical care I need to finish out the rest of my days. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. I have a mass in my ear that needs evaluated, and I am hoping for the best. Everyone says I am spunky for my age. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished pet again. Can you help me?

The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. If you can help, please donate.
