Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET JOJO!
This adorable little smoosh face is named JoJo! JoJo is a Pekinese who around 8 years old and was found as a stray in Philadelphia and brought to the animal control shelter. Surprisingly, no one came to claim her and since the shelter is no place for any animal, especially an older animal, a City of Elderly Love foster home offered her a place to lay her head while she waits to land her future family!
JoJo is currently living with other dogs, large and small, cats and kittens and older kids! In short: JoJo loves everyone and everything! We haven't yet found a person she wasn't excited to meet or an animal she didn't mind sharing her dog bed with. She really loves her new kitten foster siblings and treats them as her own. JoJo is a very mellow girl who loves to snuggle in bed and is happy to snuggle on the couch, but is also always up for a walk around the neighborhood. JoJo is mostly housebroken but her foster family leaves a pee pad for her when they leave for work, which she is good about using. Continuing with a walk schedule will help her polish her skills!
If you haven't noticed, JoJo is completely blind in her left eye and almost blind in her right eye. Unfortunately, she has minimal tear productions in both eyes but daily lubricating eye drops help keep her comfortable. Her future family will need to continue with her daily eye drops. Being mostly blind might prevent her from attempting to go down the stairs, but doesn't otherwise slow her down a bit! She's great about following your voice and steps and figures out her surroundings quickly! Other than that, JoJo is a healthy girl who was spayed and had a professional dental cleaning since coming to the rescue.
JoJo is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is also heartworm and lymes disease negative. Interested in meeting her?
