Mamacita's Story...
Mamacita has been the most wonderful mama to her four puppies and is now ready for a home that will love and care for her the way she has her puppies for the last 2 months! She is still currently in her foster home so we are currently collecting applications and selecting someone to arrange a time to meet with her. She loves belly rubs, head scratches and snuggles and is eager to please. She has a great recall and knows sit and down as well as a few commands in Spanish! Cita is still young herself and enjoys long walks and even some playtime tug-of-war every once in a while. She is a little leery of strangers but quick to warm up as soon as she knows she can trust whoever she is meeting. It's clear she wasn't particularly socialized to people, dogs or the world in her previous home, but she is extremely responsive to positive reward based training methods when introduced to new circumstances and creatures. Cita would love a home where she can be around people or other dogs during the day and not left by herself for long periods of time, but when she does have to be, she does well with Kongs, bully sticks or fish skins, and a crate or smaller confined area. She can live with a confident cat. Mamacita can also live with respectful children aged 8 or older. If you are interested in Mamacita, please submit an application for review today!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mamacita, a Bellingham Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
