Facts about Bailey

  • Breed: Shih Tzu
  • Color: White - With Red, Golden, Orange Or Chestnut
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
Bailey is an adorable, cream and apricot colored, 8 year old Shih Tzu who will do best living with a single woman who spends lots of time alone. Bailey is not a family dog. In his past life, Bailey lived with the same person for 8 years and developed possessive behaviors towards her, such as snarling and nipping when visitors got too close. Bailey was recently adopted by someone who loved him very much but returned him 2 weeks later because Bailey nipped at the woman’s husband and also showed some aggression towards their resident Shih Tzu. Bailey does well in the car and enjoys going for walks. One-on-one Bailey is an absolute doll, and is just as sweet as can be, but it’s hard for him to share his person with other people or pets. If you are someone who finds solace in being alone but would like the companionship of a sweet, little dog who is eager to attach himself to you, then Bailey would like to be your leading man. About Our Rescue Group...

Tri-County Animal Rescue Center rescues needy cats and dogs, and provides the quality care they deserve until we can place them in forever homes where they will be treated as part of the family.

We are committed to helping reduce pet overpopulation by providing access to low-cost spay/neuter programs and educating the public.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Tri-County Animal Rescue Center is located in the former Clarion County Humane Society building at 9562 Route 322 in Shippenville, Pennsylvania. We are a NO KILL facility.

PLEASE NOTE: Volunteers who work with our dogs are not always at the rescue center during public hours. Please make an appointment if you wish to be able to take a dog out of its kennel. Thank you!

Our Adoption Process...

Our dog adoption fee is $125 and we require either a spay/neuter deposit of $50 or a certificate for spay/neuter at our vet may be purchased for $100 (unless already spayed/neutered which would change the adoption fee) if the option of the $50 deposit is chosen, it will be returned after proof of the surgery.
Our cat adoption fee is $75 for kittens and $35 for adult cats. The cat adoption fee includes spay or neuter costs. All cats and dogs receive a wellness check and are current on all vaccinations appropriate for their age.

The adoption process includes filling out an adoption application and providing references. Any current pets in the household must be spayed or neutered (unless not recommended by a veterinarian for health reasons) and current on vaccinations.
If living in a rental property, we must obtain permission from the landlord before an adoption can be approved. The dog or cat will be placed with the potential adopter that best matches the needs of the animal.
