When adopting her, Penny was a little bit anxious in her pen and when warming up to us (she tried to run away on the first day and an hour long chase scene ensued), but after less than a day we were one big happy family. We soon learned that Penny was a well-trained indoor dog, who also loves to run around in a big backyard. She knows the commands of "sit, shake, stay, out, move, (and weirdly enough) kill." She is a protector at heart, loving and gentle with her family but a great alarm system against all intruders.
When we rescued Penny 1 year ago, she had a long scar down her back. We think her previous owner used the wrong type of flea medicine and it burned into her skin. She doesn't have any movement issues or seems to have any pain from the scar. As of about a month ago, she began losing some of her hair on her back. It has stopped since applying flea medicine, so we think it is an allergy to fleas. Penny IS heartworm positive. She has a wonderful temperment, and is truly a joy.
