Alvin's Story...
"I'm ALVIN, a fun-loving, happy-all-the-time fellow who's affectionate and engaging. I'm a five-year-old pit bull terrier mix who's a great size, and everyone tends to think that I'm just a big puppy. I love people, and you'll see that out in the play yard when you come to visit me. I've been completely quiet here at the shelter so far. Maybe it's just not in my nature to bark at people because I view everyone as a new friend. I'm the kind of dog who'll be a great companion and a true member of the family. I'll be good with kids, and I'd prefer to be the only dog in my home. I know how to sit on command, and I'd love to spend time learning whatever else you'd like to teach me. I respond well to positive reinforcement, such as treats and praise, and I'll cherish any time that we can spend together. I want to be the best boy I can so that you'll be pleased with me and love me forever. I hope you'll visit me soon here at the El Cajon Animal Shelter. I'm ready for my forever home, so I hope you'll give me a chance. Love, Alvin"

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alvin, a El Cajon Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
