Important Note

Miss Kitty is best friends with Cookie. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
Cookie and Miss Kitty here to introduce ourselves and stir your interest in adding us to your family! We recently lost our loving mom and are now adjusting to our new “temporary” home at the Safe Place for Pets Welcome Center. We are littermate sisters who are also bonded—we are each other’s best friend and like to stay close to each other, and we will even share attention from our people!

We are 8 years old, spayed, indoor-only, and have longish fur. Neither of us is too fond of being brushed, but if you show us the brush first, we will enjoy your attention for short brushing sessions! We do have a few differences, especially in appearance (although we are both beautiful). I am Cookie—a 12-pound, snowshoe/ragdoll mix with blue flecked eyes—and I love to groom you with kitty kisses! And I am Miss Kitty—a 9-pound, long-haired, tuxedo with gold eyes—and I tend to be very cautious in new settings but will warm up to you with lots of conversation and petting! We are quiet and reserved kitties, who have lived with other cats and get along with them, but we have had no exposure to dogs—they will likely be too exuberant for us! To learn more about us and meet us, contact Safe Place for Pets on the web (safeplacepets.org) or by phone (719-359-0201)—let’s work together to turn our “temporary” home into a fur-ever home with you!

Come Meet Our Pets...

You'll find us out and about at adoption fairs and community events all over Colorado Springs! We have a physical building in Manitou Springs where we are able to bring pets for meetings, and some reside while awaiting their new families. We also create a monthly poster featuring our available pets which are displayed at locations throughout the community - please let us know if you can put our available pets flyer at your workplace. We update our community posters and pet listings monthly. For the most up-to-date info, please visit our website at www.safeplacepets.org

Our Adoption Process...

Please check out our available pets and contact us to let us know which one(s) interest you. We'll arrange a site visit to your home and a meet-and-greet with your prospective pet once we have had a phone chat to determine if our rescue pet is a good fit for you and you for him/her. If you and the pet decide it's true love, we'll have you fill out an adoption contract and ask for an adoption donation (rather than a fee). A certificate of adoption is mailed to you once the process is complete.
