Age: 2 years
Health: Was Heartworm positive but has been treated and is now negative! No other obvious issues found during vet exam
Temperament:  Malcolm likes to hang out in his crate.  His a very sweet dog and doesn't seem fearful in any way.  He will come right up to you wagging his tail.  He likes everyone and has no issues with strangers or children.  He is probably happy to have someone who actually wants to be around him.  He needs someone who won't give him away.  He has been bounced around a lot.

FOSTER PARENT UPDATE:  Malcolm is a great dog and has done well here.  He would probably do best in a home with fewer dogs because he does want a lot of attention and love.  He has a strong personality and is bossy, which is pretty common for a Pomeranian, but he does get along with the dogs and cats in his foster home, as long as they acknowledge that he is the boss.  He loves to go on walks and car rides, and really just loves all people.  He does enjoy playing with dogs his own size.  He is good with both dogs and cats, but will chase the cats if they run.  He does have mild anxiety when we leave the house, and if his new owner is gone for quite some time, it is possible that his anxiety will grow stronger.

Where did he come from:  Was being given away for free on yard sale page in Arkansas
Ambitions: To find the perfect forever home

About Recycled Poms and Schipperkes

About Our Rescue Group...

We began in 1998, and have continued to rescue purebred dogs previously used as breeders in Puppy Mills, dogs surrendered by their owners, lost and abandoned dogs on death row at local shelters and a few dogs found roaming the streets. We house, feed, rehabilitate, socialize, seek medical attention for, spay or neuter each dog rescued, but mostly, we give them love.

Please join our cause! We can't do it alone.

We are run entirely by volunteers who give of their time to help find these precious pups their forever homes! Please consider joining us in our fight to find "furever homes" for these pups! We can always use volunteers, FOSTER HOMES!!!!, and donations, including quality dog food, healthy treats (like BULLY STICKS!) belly bands for boy dogs, exercise pens, pee pads, collars, leashes, and Dog shampoo

Come Meet Our Pets...

We would love to see you on the

Also, feel free to email us about a prospective pet, and we will put you in touch with their foster home.

Our Adoption Process...

Adopting one of our dogs requires that you fill out an adoption application, have your references checked, and let us visit your home.

The required minimum adoption donation is $250. That amount covers the spay/neuter, annual vaccinations, heartworm testing, and one month of heart worm preventative.

We spend about $300.00 just to treat the pommies that are heartworm positive. We have invested more than $1000.00 in several of our pommies--treating them and kenneling them. Kenneling cost $16 a day per dog. We need foster homes!

To fill out an application, simply go to http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/TX150.html and fill out the application and email it to
