Sarah's Story...
"Sarah, storms are brewing in your eyes"--what is it about that name that brings to mind a mediocre Jefferson Starship ballad from 30 years ago? We don't think storms are brewing in this Sarah's eyes, but she's definitely got a set of soulful ones on her. Sarah is a 3 year old border collie mix whose owner can no longer keep her. Contrary to her heritage, she seems to be a quiet, calm dog. She's still new to her surroundings here so she's likely a bit overwhelmed. That said, she seemed okay with smaller dogs but a little uncomfortable around the Newfie mix we have here. We do not know how she feels about cats or kids. Sarah is spayed and UTD on vaccinations. If you'd like to take the sadness out of Sarah's eyes, contact us: www.gatewayareahumane.com/adopt-form.html or 859-404-7834.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sarah, a Mt Sterling Border Collie/Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Pointer for sale in Mt Sterling, or seeking a Border Collie/Pointer dog from a breeder in Mt Sterling.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mt Sterling already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mt Sterling breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Pointer breeders who help with Border Collie/Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mt Sterling paves the way for another one to be saved.
