Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Are you a small dog person? No? Great! Have we got the guy for you! This is Ollie. Ollie is our kind of guy--big, sweet, goofy and lovable. Ollie has no idea he isn't a Chihuahua. He loves to hang out with you, in your lap if at all possible. Ollie is about 5 years old, give or take, and our best guess is a Newfoundland/Labrador mix. Needless to say, given that heritage, Ollie has a lot of coat and does not do well in the heat. For that reason, and many others, including the fact that he's just about the sweetest big lummox we've ever met, Ollie is available only to folks who will make him a part of their family with all the rights and privileges therein--A/C in the summer, a soft bed, long walks, lots of cuddles and play time. Ollie does well on a leash, knows "sit" and "down" and is cool with other dogs. About the only thing Ollie isn't cool about is sharing his supper with his canine friends--he's like Joey from Friends. Remember? "Joey doesn't share food!" and neither does Ollie. His resource guarding seems limited to his dinner and to other animals so we recommend a home where he can be an only dog, be fed separately and/or someone who can help him overcome that issue. We think Ollie is the bomb and want him to have a great home that can give him all the love he deserves. www.gatewayareahumane.com/adopt-form.html or 859-404-7834.
