Leia's Info...

Leia's Story...
Leia is a female Chinchilla. She was born in 2012. She is a true princess! She loves to arrange her cage 'just so'...which usually means bunching up the fleece, spreading the hay around and flipping her food bowl upside down. Leia is very sweet and comfortable with hands in her cage and will come over to check out what you're doing. She will take treats from you and allow gentle nose pats sometimes, however she's definitely on the shy side and would appreciate a gentle, patient adopter who can help her get a bit more socialized. Leia also loves her wheel and her ball - she is a great driver and explores the whole house.

Leia's adoption fee is $75. For more information on adopting Leia, email us at info@wmicritterhaven.org. Adopters must be at least 18 years old.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Leia, a Grand Rapids Chinchilla was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chinchilla for sale in Grand Rapids, or seeking a Chinchilla from a breeder in Grand Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chinchilla breeders who help with Chinchilla rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
