This special, lovely lady is Topaz, a 2 year old chihuahua mix. She has a long tail that you can't see in the photo, and the softest, dark brown hair. Topaz gets along well with most dogs, and pretty much ignores the cats in her foster home. Topaz may have had some bad interactions in her past life, because she is extremely fearful of human touch. So, Topaz is looking for a family that will give her plenty of time to adjust and learn to trust them. It is possible that she will never be a cuddly lap dog. However, she likes to play with other dogs, is happy running around, and seems to enjoy life. She is crate trained and house trained. She can be scared of getting a leash put on (the human touch thing), but once it is on, she does well on walks. If you think you have the perfect home for Topaz,
Our adoption fees range from $150-$225 depending on the dog's age. The dogs are all spayed/neutered, microchipped, and have received age appropriate vaccines including rabies, DHPP, and usually bordetella (kennel cough). If you would like to meet one of our dogs, please do the online application at http://lilbitofloverescue.weebly.com/adoption-application.html. You only need to do it once for our organization, regardless of how many of our dogs you are interested in.

You'll receive a copy, too, at to help you keep track of which pets you've inquired about, and which shelters and rescues you've emailed.
NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply.
