Andy showed up at the doorstep of someone's house in rural Arkansas one afternoon, a beautiful brown-eyed puppy with one ear sticking straight up and the other ear flopped down. The kind homeowner saw he was starving so she gave him some dog food, clean water and was smitten by his sweet face. She let him stay for the night and the next day took him to the vet, where he was checked out (he was very healthy) and for a microchip (never found) so she took him back home to try to find his owner. Of course no one was looking for him, so after a couple of weeks she called us to see if we could find him a home, and Team Andy was formed. His kind savior is now his foster and we're putting all our efforts together to find him a great home where he will be cherished forever.
Andy gets along great with all the other dogs at his foster house. He runs laps around the yard with the bulldog, and loves to play "Whose Mouth is Wider?" with the little mixed-breed dog -- they can mouth each other for hours! True to his GSD-heritage, Andy is very smart, eager-to-please and has great focus (for a puppy!). He's already mastered "Sit" and is working on "Lay," but he is smart enough to learn anything you want to teach him. He's been great at the dog park where they have agility obstacles set up -- he LOVES them! He will fetch a ball if he has to -- he knows what you want -- but it's not really his thing. He'd rather learn something interesting, or else just run around like a puppy lunatic with his friends!
Andy is about 5 months old, he weighs about 40 pounds and he is a very healthy boy. We can't see anything other than Shepherd in him, but we can't know if he's pure or a mix. If you are on Team Andy too, please visit www.pinkshelter.org for more information about the adoption process or click
