My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sally is a beautiful and sweet girl in search of her forever family. She had a family once, but the mother became ill and the family returned her. Sally needs to know that she can trust her humans, so she can have mixed reactions to new people...in new environments, she can be very shy, but at home she can bark at strangers until she feels comfortable that they are good people. If you don't rush her, she will come out of her shell in no time and show just what a wonderful dog she really is. Sally becomes quite devoted to "her" people and is so excited when they come home that her actual whole body wags with joy and she loves to rub up against your legs to show that she has missed you. She also loves to lay on your lap and get a good belly rub after she has had her playtime with other dogs.

Sally loves to play with other dogs and can join in a game of chase the ball with the best of them. While she could be an only dog, her foster mom thinks she would be happier with another dog to play with.

Sally is crate trained and is working hard on her house training....she is almost there, but her adopters will have to understand that puppies and young dogs do best with routines and the more consistency that is instilled in schedules, the more successful they will be with training. We want to make sure that Sally truly goes to her forever home this time, so be prepared to answer the tough questions if you want to adopt her, because Sally deserves a forever home that will love and keep her as part of the family, no matter what.

Sally is a terrier mix, DOB 5/12/17. She will be spayed, microchipped and up to date on age appropriate vaccinations. She weighs approx 20 pounds at this time, but is estimated to be 30-35 pounds fully grown.

AS WITH ALL YOUNG PUPS, this puppy will need constant supervision when not crated. Puppies will chew and get into trouble as any puppy would. A puppy needs a leader and someone to teach the basics of house training, obedience, and behavior. At the ages of 10-16 weeks, puppies tend to tire easily and take lots of naps. As they get older, they will need more exercise (walks, hikes, playing fetch, etc) to expend their energy and to be happy and healthy.

Don't get us wrong, we love puppies! However, we also want those interested in adopting a wee canine to make a thoughtful decision, be realistic in behavior expectations, and be prepared to provide proper and kind leadership.

For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.youluckydogrescue.org and read our Adoption FAQ's and Before You Adopt documents. In addition you can complete an online adoption application from our website. You can also email info@youluckydogrescue.org for additional details.

Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue. We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
