Beautiful and incredibly sweet Marmelade was brought in to a public shelter as a stray cat with her four adorable babies, and the little family joined us here at Kitty Corner on May 15th. We couldn't be more pleased to have them around! Marmelade is incredibly sweet and easy-going; she purrs quite loudly within seconds of touching her and has been wonderful with anyone and everyone handling her too-cute kittens. The family consists of: Marmelade: 2-years-old, buff tiger/white, medium hair Blackberry: black/white female, short-hair Apricot: buff/white male, medium-hair Currant: black/white male, short-hair Ginger: tortie-point Siamese mix The kittens are estimated to have been born on March 25th and have received their first vaccine and de-worming. Each member of this family is currently available to foster-to-adopt homes until such time as they can be spayed/neutered and officially adopted. As with all of our young kittens, we aim to place them in pairs or into homes with another resident cat for their best development. Marmelade hasn't been exposed to other adult cats here at Kitty Corner and so would likely be fine as an only cat or perhaps with another easy-going, docile feline friend. Get ready to become smitten! Location: Foster home until the week of June 19th

About Contra Costa Humane Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Contra Costa Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that operates such programs as Adoptions, Kitty Corner, Spay/Neuter Assistance, and AniMeals. We are not affiliated with any other rescue organization, humane society or spca.

Our mission is to empower our community to improve the quality of life for animals and decrease euthanasia rates. Through our programs and services, we connect with individuals and private and public organizations to adopt pets, reduce the number of unwanted animals, and educate the public to foster compassion, responsibility and respect towards animals.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our business office and Kitty Corner are located at 171 Mayhew Way, Suite 101 in Pleasant Hill, CA 94523.

Kitty Corner houses adult, senior, and special-needs cats (sometimes teenage kittens). Kitty Corner is open for adoptions on Saturday, Sunday & Monday from 12-3pm or during the week (preferably by appointment to make sure someone's available to show you the cats).

All of our dogs, puppies and kittens are located off-site in foster homes and can be met by appointment once adoption applications have been received and approved.

Our Adoption Process...

CCHS has animals available for adoption through a number of different avenues. Many of our kittens and all dogs are cared for in loving foster homes until they are adopted. Teenage, adult, senior and special-needs cats reside at Kitty Corner, an on-site, private cat shelter where cats are allowed to free-roam at all times, lounge in sunny windows and on comfy cat towers, and play to their heart's galore. Similarly, we also have animals available for adoption through our Re-Homing Assistance Program, where we help to advertise animals that caregivers are no longer able to keep.

If you are interested in meeting any of the animals listed on our website, please complete an adoption application unless otherwise noted!

Kittens under 6mo: $130 ($200 for two)
