My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pixie is the perfect name for this pint sized cutie! The people at a local shelter thought she might have mange, so did not want to take any chances with her. It turned out to be a simple problem with a simple solution. Ear infections with long sharp nails, do not make for pretty ears! Pixie tipped the scales at 13.5 pounds when she arrived. This 1 y/o currently weighs just under 15 pounds and the sores on her ears are all healed!

Pixie took a few days to work out the house breaking rules but has been accident free since then. She learned the dog door without effort, so suspect that she has had one in the past. She was very good about sitting quietly while her ear infection was treated. The drops must have soothed the burning pain in her ears. Most dogs fight the drops! She was also very good about getting her talons trimmed.

Pixie is a strange mix between timid and bold! She would run and hide at first when one of the others barked, but has a very load and deep bay for such a runt! She loves using her voice to warn off strange noises from neighboring yards as well as the occasional airplane flying over head! Pixie loves playing with her foster siblings. She can take on the bigger boys but prefers the smaller girls where she stands a chance! She has also become very good at digging for moles in the yard. She hasn’t caught any, but has exposed an impressive number of mole trails that I didn’t know where in the yard! She is also the best thief of the pack. She has been known to steal the remote when you walk into the kitchen for a drink of water.

Pixie enjoys a good snuggle next to you or on your lap. She does leap up without warning, but is so small that you hardly notice! She has a sweet nature and will do great as an addition to your pack. She would not do well as an only dog or in an apartment. If you have a spot for this girl in your home and heart, please apply to meet her. Her personality is 100 times bigger than her body
