Hi! My name is Missy. My former owners surrendered me to the pound for euthanasia because I “walked funny”. Well, of course I walked funny! I have a bad hip courtesy of a botched surgery, and I was about 20 lbs overweight! I was lucky, my foster mom got me out of the pound the very same day that I was surrendered. I’m at my ideal weight now, thanks to green beans, healthy food and thyroid medicine. I am approximately 9-10 years old, but my foster mom says that I look much younger (just what every girl wants to hear!)
I love to snuggle with my foster mom and dad. I am shy with new people, but I warm up quickly. I am housebroken and I also love to go on neighborhood walks. I do not pull and if I sniff grass too long just ask me to come and I will. I have not been child tested, but I can be, upon request. I get along great with my indoor feline foster sibs, even when they insist on rubbing against me and shaking their tails in my face. My favorite game is to chase the garbage truck along the fence as it passes by. I bark and run along the fence as if I were a puppy!
I greet my people in the morning with a happy good morning "rooooo" and my foster dad says I have a cute way of running to my food bowl. I love to snuggle up beside my foster mom with my head on her chest and cuddle. A perfect home for me would have a nice soft bed, humans to cuddle with, and one or two neighborhood walks everyday. I would not mind being an only dog and I wouldn't mind having a quiet older male dog as a companion. If you are looking for an affectionate companion whose only desire is to be by your side, I am it! I will be your best friend for life.
