This is Saige Mae. She is a Whippet Boxer (Pitt) mix who turns 1 year on June 16th, 2017. Saige is fully vetted, spayed, and up to date on her flea and heart worm preventative. She is a ball of energy but calms down when told or when it's time to go to bed. Saige knows all her commands, even by hand signal without words and can be very focused. She is house broke and does not need to be crated to be left in the house alone as long as chew toys are provided. She will go in a crate if needed without any problems. Saige gets along with other dogs but has not been tested around cats. Saige walks well on the leash and loves to swim! She can climb a wire fence so a 6ft wooden fence is a requirement. She doesn't bark a lot and pats you or walks to the door to be let out. She is people oriented and would rather be by your side at all times than anywhere else, unless your playing fetch, which she will do until she drops. She is very very loved and for that reason must be rehomed. The dog she is living with is jealous and has tried to hurt her a few times. She has a round scar on her back left leg since birth. The veterinarian says it's dead hair follicles. It's small and doesn't distract from her gorgeous looks, such as the perfect white heart on her chest!!

About Texas Best Choices Animal Rescue

About Our Shelter...

We started rescuing dogs in 2001 and became a non profit animal rescue in 2006 out of the sheer need to save animals from the streets, and pick up the ones dropped at our doorstep. We promote spay/neuter, and last year found forever homes for 129 animals from our location, and adopted over 400 through off site adoption..

Donate to Our Shelter...

Find the Pay Pal Donate Button on our Petfinder page or Facebook page.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are open 7 days a week by appointment. Weekends are preferred. Come see our waggin' tails and happy faces on 22 acres with large runs and a 5 acre play area. Email to ask for directions and to make an appt.

Our Adoption Process...

We have a simple contract ensuring that our rescue will be well taken care of, medically and physically, will never be tied or chained, and that a secure fenced area is provided for outdoor play. We want for each a loving home and to become part of a family. Every animal is up to date on shots and spay/neuter is required.
