Charlotte's Story...
Meet Charlotte, a playful girl hoping for a forever family that will give her tons of love and toys. She loves to curl up on your lap and take a quick nap, but when she wakes up she's always ready to play. She's a "hunter", always the first to get that toy mouse or bell toy, and then walks off with it in her mouth - so proud of her success. Charlotte is high energy but always wants to cuddle.

Behaviorally and socially, it’s best to adopt kittens in pairs, or into a home with a playful cat. Kittens really need a playmate in their forever home…and then they can get to play, and snuggle while you're not home. Check out our Pick A Pair page to see if one of her siblings is still available.

If you are only interested in adopting a single kitten, and you’re home most of the day, and able to spend interactive time with a kitten, we will consider adopting out a kitten older than 4 months. Each foster home knows the kitten’s personalities best, and we follow their recommendations for single placements.

You can meet Charlotte at her foster home, Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Rd., 7 days a week during normal store hours. (wilmettepetcenter.com, 847-251-6750)

Charlotte's estimated date of birth is 3/14/17, and her adoption fee of $140 includes: vet exam, feline leukemia/FIV test (neg.), FVRCP (distemper combo) vaccination, routine deworming, microchip and spay.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Charlotte, a Mt. Prospect Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Mt. Prospect, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Mt. Prospect.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mt. Prospect already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mt. Prospect breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mt. Prospect paves the way for another one to be saved.
