Facts about STEWART

  • Breed: Chihuahua Mix
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
STEWART was saved from a shelter in Texas. He is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm and tick disease (SNAP 3DX) tested negative and micro-chipped. He has been estimated date of birth of 2 May 2015 and weighs around 11 pounds. STEWART has been listed as a chihuahua. We have no way of knowing the true breed, it is up to you to decide what you think his breed/s is

STEWART would love a family that is active and can take him on long walks, hikes and adventures. He rides great in the car and has been friendly with everyone he has met so far and loves to snuggle on your lap. He would benefit with play dates with other dogs and would love to meet lots of new people. He loves to run and chase with the other dogs and loves to play with toys or chew on the hooves. We do not have cats at the rescue so cannot comment on how he would act around them.

STEWART is located in our kennel building and uses the extreme weather dog door to get in and out of her run. He has not had any accidents in the kennel. STEWART, as with all rescue dogs are in need of basic and advanced training and we recommend that families spend time with him working on basic obedience and manners, this helps to set boundaries, expectations and allows both STEWART and his humans to learn more about each others personality and body language.

STEWART would benefit from a family familiar with small breed dogs and their habits and traits. He is a small boy, but high energy and would love to go on lots of adventures to explore the sights, sounds and smells the world has to offer.

STEWART is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $500.

This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.

If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.

Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks.

STEWART is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx 8 miles) and approx 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. If there are options to arrange transport, we will work with you to make it happen.

About Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue-PA

About Our Rescue Group...

Founded by Jenny an English woman who found her way to Texas on 14th February 2011 in San Antonio, Texas we saved dogs from the high kill shelters in Texas.

In July 2015, Jenny relocated herself and the rescue to the beautiful state of Maine, it's weather and people much like that of her home in Northern England.

We still save dogs from the high kill shelters in Texas where dogs have just 3 days to be saved. We vet them, they have veterinary examination and are issued with health certificates and then transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine.
