Hi People,
We are Mercury and Pluto, a dynamic duo who are four years old, happy, sweet and loving Bichon mixes. We are brothers (a bonded pair) whose Mom and Dad had to work full time so they kenneled us for 12 hours a day. Finally, they realized that was not a fair thing for two active, playful pups so they gave us up – and we became FurKids! Now we are as lucky as we are cute!
Mom says we are playful little guys who are great around kids. She has this little one called a ‘granddaughter’ who is not even two years old. She likes to chase us and tell us what to do – and we listen. Mom says that’s pretty funny. (She’s noisier than we are and likes to chase us and boss us around! We’re so good-natured that we just listen and respond.)
We really like to go for rides (we are very well behaved) and walks. Being outside on a leash is new to us and we think it is really neat! Dad says we are ‘getting the hang of it’ though and doing well.
And you should see us with toys. Pluto likes to lie on his back with his toy and play, play play! When we play together, however, we take turns ‘winning’ and are pretty equal in everything we do!
Dad says that I, Mercury, have gorgeous brown eyes, a bit of a pinkish nose, am 16 pounds, love to be petted and have my head scratched — and that I’m very affectionate. I give lots of doggy kisses and listen very well. I’m learning commands and am a great companion. Mom says Pluto is too. He’s a bit smaller at 10 pounds but he’s pretty good at letting people know he’s around. If I’m getting petted he will scratch my back and say ‘It’s my turn’ but we share everything reasonably well.
We come when we are called (Dad says he wishes all the FurKids came when they were called!), don’t try to escape (or bolt out the front door because we know how nice it is to belong). get along well with other dogs and love people. Mom says we are inseparable and happiest when we can snuggle together. (We even like to touch each other when we are sleeping!) And we are such good boys who are always one another’s comfort and companion.
