Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lucca
Male, 5-7 year old, odd-eyed, Turkish Van mix kitty.
Lucca has beautiful, white, long, thick fur with unique orange splashes of color. He has huge white feet, but is still a very graceful boy. His eyes are different colors. One is brown and one is a green-brown, making him what we call odd-eyed. His eyes will melt your heart when you look into them. He is currently 11# but should be closer to 13-14 as he recovers. His foster mom notes that Lucca is very, very friendly and loves her human visitors. He seems very content around his foster mom's dogs.
Lucca came into rescue when his owners moved and left him behind. It seems he may have spent lots of time on the street before he was rescued. When rescued, he was very sad and lonely and came right up to his rescuers, meowing for help. His coat was solidly infested with fleas. The staff had never seen anything like it before. He had so much flea dirt that the vet staff thought he had huge black freckles under his fur. He has been treated for fleas and wormed. He loved his bath and was so patient with his foster mom as she scrubbed and scrubbed, getting rid of dead fleas, dirt, and little scabs from flea bites. He has a little anemia from the flea bites but is quickly recovering with good food and a safe, warm foster home. He is negative for FELV and FIV.
He is neutered and vaccinated. He will be microchipped before adoption. He is available now to go to his forever home never to be left alone outside again.
Lucca is fostered in West Sacramento.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interest!
