Animal Services is primarily charged with the responsibility of enforcing Chapter 5 of the Code of Miami-Dade County, as well as Florida Statute 828, which deals primarily with animal cruelty issues. Unlike private shelters that have limitations on the number of pets they accept, we accept all animals, at Animal Services. None are turned away, and each year, the shelter impounds more than 34,000 dogs and cats. Our goal is to reunite lost pets with their owners and find life long homes for as many animals as possible and to provide proper care for them while they’re at the shelter.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Animal Services Locations and Hours Miami-Dade Animal Services is an open-admission shelter meaning that no homeless animal is turned away. Our goal is to reunite lost pets with their owners and when that is not possible, find a new home for them, provided that they are healthy and not aggressive.
How to Adopt You can search for a pet online www.miamidade.gov/animals or go to the shelter.
There is no guarantee that the pet you have identified online will still be available when you arrive at the shelter. If the pet you wanted is no longer available, please consider adopting another animal in our shelter. Each day there are over 350 loveable dogs and cats looking for a good home.
Humane America Animal Foundation, dba Adopt-a-Pet.com, is a non-profit, tax-deductible 501(c)(3) adoption advertising charity. Our mission (and passion) is to help
get homeless pets out of the shelters and into loving homes. Let us know what you think! Suggestion & Comment Box
