Meet Izzie!  Izzie is a victim of a dog that has literally been shuffled around her entire life and needs to find the perfect forever home.  We are going to do whatever it takes to make sure we find her just the right match that will love her forever.  Izzie is a great little dog but she has some requirements that we will need adopters to meet.  She is 6 years old and weighs about 13 pounds.  She is a yorkie-poo.  Izzie is still very playful, but will need a quiet home.  She is used to spending most of her time inside, as should be with little dogs.  We feel like she may do okay with one other small dog in the home, but may be best without other dogs where she can be spoiled rotten.  Definitely no small children for Izzie.  To clarify, this means no children under the age of 8 years old.  In the past she has been trained to use pee pads at night and during the day if left too long.  We want someone who is around a lot for this little girl.  If you are gone more than 3 hours at a time, that just won't work for Izzie.  She loves to be in the lap of her owner and gives tons of kisses.  She does love to go for walks.

She can be possessive of toys and food but only with other dogs, which is why we are encouraging a home without more than 1 dog, if any at all.  She will bite or snap at another dog if she feels threatened.  She is an active dog though so someone will need to spend time with her.  She does get a bit nervous about storms, but who doesn't?

Izzie rides well in the car and loves to be on the furniture!  Her favorite toys are small tennis balls and rope toys, and really any toy!

She needs someone that works from home, or is retired and home a lot.  She would need a fenced yard, and if children, they must be older.  She loves her people!

Izzie is in her foster home in GA and can be transported to either MD or NJ when an approved adopter is found.  Whomever does adopt Izzie must plan to stay in touch with us at the rescue group and let us know how she is doing because we really love this girl!  Izzie is spayed and up to date on all of her shots.

The Last Resort is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at  www.thelastresortrescue.com/adoptionapplication.htm
