My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Braxton is a small breed dog with an independent attitude (at least he pretends to be that way!) At first he seem aloof, but gradually, as he becomes more comfortable, and confident in his new environment, he becomes more friendly. He likes to be carried, he will sleep on the couch near you and snuggle in bed as well. Braxton would not do well living with small children, although he may tolerate them for short periods of time, supervised at all times, of course. Braxton would make a great companion for a retired person who is still active and likes to hike and take drives. He would be fantastic on 'dog friendly' excursions. Braxton is about 20 lbs. and only 2-3 yrs old. He will need grooming about once every 3-4 months. If interested in adopting, please visit www.masrescue.org and click on "Adopt Here". The adoption fee is $300.00. Please Note: 100% of all the adoption fees collected are used to care for the animals, and pay our ever increasing vet bill. We appreciate your interest in adopting from a rescue organization. We understand the desire to meet our "cuties" as soon as possible, but because we operate entirely out of foster homes, we need to limit visitation to approved applicants only. Once your completed application is submitted by you and approved by MASR, we will be glad to schedule your visit. This dog has been examined by our vet, spayed or neutered (if not previously done), vaccinations updated, heartworm negative, and has been microchipped. Breed Selection is 'Best Efforts' given by shelter staff, veterinarians and rescue volunteers. NO guarantees are implied. Dogs benefit greatly from Obedience Training - and we encourage you to check out http://www.pupsdogobediencetraining.com/ . They offer a great discount for training of dogs coming from MAS Rescue! Please note that small breeds are not well designed for families with young children as everything about them is more delicate and will require careful handling. Remember adoption is a commitment for the lifetime of your new furry friend; dogs could live 15 years or more!!
