A - LUCIE's Story...
Hi, there! My name is LUCIE. What's yours? Nice to meet ya!

Hey! Before you get attached to me, read all the way to the bottom. You will see that I am still in Houston, TX but I want to get OUT of Houston and OUT of Texas so I can have a really good life. I want to see Texas in my rear view mirror. A nice person came along and took me in and, now, I am ready to hit the road to your house! Uh, make that “our” house, OK?

I am a Schnauzer/Poodle mix, we think. My parents didn't stick around long enough for me to find out about my heritage. If you have a computer, maybe we can find out on! What do ya think? I am 1 to about 1.5-years old and I weigh almost 50 pounds. I have had all of my shots and have been spayed so I can go to my new home with YOU! Those funny-looking 2-legged creatures said I’m also microchipped – whatever THAT is. At any rate, I will be fully vetted. Is that anything close to petted? I love to be petted........once I bond with you and that doesn't take terribly long!

Wanna hear some more good stuff about me? OK, here goes. I'm an active girl who needs lots of exercise. Even if I just run around and around the back yard, that suits me fine. You can tell by my hair that I'm that outdoorsy kind of girl! I'm sort of a Tom-boy!

I'm a little skittish right now because I've been living in a shelter in a cage. Boy, I'm anxious to get to a nice, calm home-life where I am the only doggie. I KNOW I like other dogs and I KNOW I wouldn't mind if you decide to add another doggie to our home but I want to get to my new home first and de-stress and be confident that you love me to the moon and back. OK?
Since I'm a tad skittish, little kids would probably make me nervous. I'm not ruling anything out once I get outta here and into a home but, for now, I want to be your one and only love bug.

Hey, here's something good. I have very soft hair and it's the kind that doesn't shed..............much. I don't think I could totally say that I won't shed at all...........just to be on the safe side. I am probably hypoallergenic. I had to ask someone how to spell that!

I need love, exercise, petting, and couch-sitting when we get tired! Let's be a team, OK? I'm a great cuddle bug. I'm sort of blank slate right now and need your help to learn all the things I need to know to be a Good Canine Citizen. You'd be so proud of me!

My foster family loves me SO much that they only want me to fly to my new home even if a pet transport truck was available. See my adoption information below.

If you would like to take me home (and you know you do), please email and she can get me on my way to a new and loving home! My adoption fee is $650 USD and includes my vetting, spaying, microchip, health certificate, travel crate AND transportation on United Airlines from Houston, TX to areas in the Northeast U. S., North Central U. S., Northwest U. S., and Canada and will be arranged by the rescue group. (This is a courtesy posting.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

A - LUCIE, a Stamford Schnauzer (Standard)/Poodle (Standard) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Standard)/Poodle (Standard) for sale in Stamford, or seeking a Schnauzer (Standard)/Poodle (Standard) dog from a breeder in Stamford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Stamford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Stamford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Standard)/Poodle (Standard) breeders who help with Schnauzer (Standard)/Poodle (Standard) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Stamford paves the way for another one to be saved.
