My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Crystal & Jellybean are an adorable pair of kittens who arrived at the HSOV about a week apart and quickly became best friends and also unofficial siblings. Both of these youngsters had sad stories and rough beginnings to their lives...

Jellybean was brought to the HSOV on April 18, 2017 after he was found without his family. His mother had given birth to him and his siblings in the underpinning of a mobile home and Jellybean 'fell out of the nest' :( His mother/siblings wee never reunited with him. Jellybean was 3-4 weeks old at that time. This little guy has a black coat which is a little fluffier than could be called short (if that makes sense?). He has a long tail and a cute kitten face with large golden eyes.

Crystal was brought to the HSOV on April 25, 2017 after she was found in a ditch beside a country road without her mother :( This little sweetheart was 5-6 weeks old at that time and very dependent upon someone to take care of her. She has always been 'cute as a button' with a sleek black coat, a long tail, and an adorable kitten face. Crystal was playful and entertaining from day one :)

Thankfully for both Crystal and Jellybean, one of our fabulous foster mothers took them home (together) shortly after they entered our shelter, and they only had to spend a few hours in cages by themselves :) :)

Crystal and Jellybean have enjoyed the hospitality and freedom of a real home for the the past two months, and they will soon be ready for find a permanent home of their very own. Their foster mother brought them back for updated photos on June 8, 2017. they are as happy and playful as ever. Crystal is still the social butterfly and self-appointed activities director in charge of fun-and-games. Jellybean was a little intimidated being in our 'studio' and was dependent upon 'big sister' Crystal for reassurance .. much to the dismay of his proud foster mother. She kept remarking that he was a different kitten when he was in a real home (which we completely understand!!)

Crystal weighed 3.6 lbs. that day while Jellybean weighed 3.2 lbs. They have met their weight limits to be spayed/neutered (hopefully on June 14th) and will be available for adoption/rescue at that time. They are so bonded with each other that we feel it is in their best interest to be adopted as a pair.

Rescue groups may contact our Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation and also provide combo testing without charge to rescues.

UPDATE: Crystal and Jellybean were spayed/neutered on June 14, 2017 and were also given rabies vaccine. They were both combo tested on August 12, 2017 and are negative for feline leukemia, FIV, and heartworm.
