PRINCE's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

PRINCE's Story...
PRINCE was saved from one of the shelters we work with in Texas with his brother or best friend STING. He is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm and tick-disease tested; Negative and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 26 May 2014 and has an estimated weight of 75 pounds. PRINCE has been listed as an German Shepherd Dog. We have no way of knowing the true breed, it is up to you to decide what you think his breed/s is.

WE ARE LOOKING TO ADOPT BOTH BOYS TOGETHER SINCE THEY ARE BONDED.

It is important to note that PRINCE is a high energy, intelligent, working breed dog and you really need to be experienced with this breed, or at least have done a lot of research, have support and confident you have the lifestyle to accommodate this stunning boy.

PRINCE is a handsome boy, he does need to gain some weight as he is quite thin, but is eating well at the rescue. He is always laying at the side of my chair if I am inside, or he will be out playing with his brother or best friend STING.

PRINCE is very affectionate and loves to get cuddles and his belly rubbed and ear scratched. He loves toys and especially loves to chew on the cow hooves. He gets on great with other dogs of all sizes. We do NOT have cats at the rescue so are unable to say how he would get on with cats.

PRINCE does walk on a leash, however, he does pull and is very strong, so it is important that training be carried out on walking nicely on a leash.

PRINCE is going to need a family that is used to high energy, smart dogs, preferably someone who is familiar with the shepherd breed. Someone who understand that he will need training and guidance and learns that humans are in charge so that he doesn't get too much of a handful. He is going to need a very active family who can give him the lifestyle that he needs. Playing ball in the back-yard is not enough for this boy, he is going to need a lot of physical and mental exercise. Going on road trips, to new places, hikes and adventures and letting him explore the sights, smells and sounds the world has to offer will be to his and your benefit.

He is going to need a family that understands the importance of basic and advanced training. We advise that families work on their own basic training so that boundaries and expectations can be set and personalities and body language learnt in the process, which will help form a much stronger bond.

PRINCE uses the dog doors to go outside and has had no accidents in the house.

PRINCE will make a great family addition to an experienced family. He is fun, active and very loving and deserves a good family and home to call his own.

PRINCE is available for adoption from Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $500.

This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.

If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.

Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks.

PRINCE is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx 8 miles) and approx 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. If there are options to arrange transport, we will work with you to make it happen.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

PRINCE, a Middletown German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Middletown, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Middletown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Middletown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Middletown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Middletown paves the way for another one to be saved.
