Hey everyone - my name is Rusty! I'm young, cute and ready to go! My former family couldn't keep me - I think they didn't understand that I need lots of training, attention and exercise. I got bored and kept escaping. Which is easy for me, since I can go over a 6 foot fence, so you'll need super good containment for me and getting me lots of exercise will also help. I'm a really loving guy and very sweet. I want to please, but I just need some direction.

I've tried trotting next to a bike and that was loads of fun, so if you are a biker or even a runner, I'd love to accompany you. We could both get exercise! I know 'sit' and am learning 'down', but I'm sure there is a lot more for me to learn. I'm wiling and I do like the treats, so it should be easy to teach me some fun stuff.

I'm not too big - fun-sized, as they say. Are you willing to help me learn some manners and have some fun doing it? I would also enjoy a friendly, playful female dog about my size. And actually, I get along really well with dogs of both gender and any size. I just love the play group I'm in every day! I bet I could learn a lot from another dog who's lived in a family setting. I really do want to be a good boy - I just need the right family to help me!

About Moonsong Malamute Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We're glad you stopped by to check out our Mallies in need of their "furever" homes! We are now a bonafide, federally recognized non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to assisting Alaskan Malamutes and their owners when in crisis throughout the Intermountain West. Please be aware that Moonsong Malamute Rescue (MMR) is not a shelter or humane society. We are affiliated with the Alaskan Malamute Assistance League (AMAL), which is the national rescue organization recognized by the Alaskan Malamute Club of America. As an affiliate to AMAL, MMR operates under AMAL's code of ethics.

We offer educational material about the Alaskan Malamute breed, can assist in resolving containment issues, are able to help an owner with appropriately re-homing their Malamute when necessary, and provide behavioral issues support in the form of referrals to trainers and other more experienced Malamute owners. These funds are also used to help care for Malamutes with adoptable personalities who have been pulled from shelters, or who have been seized by authorities after having been abandoned, neglected, or abused.
