Facts about Marco

  • Breed: German Shepherd Dog
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Marco is guessed to be 6-7 years old and he is waiting for you to come take him to your home and make him part of the family. His face shows grey but he is young at heart with plenty of energy to accompany you on long walks and adventures. He was dropped off at a shelter in Texas when he started scratching, I guess it was easier than taking him to the vet for some medication. Anyway, he is with us now and believed to have allergies, but we all seem to suffer from that. Marco is just now showing us that he loves car rides, walks, course he will need some leash training and he loves food. He is not interested in toys as all he wants to do is to hang around with you and get his head petted. He is ok with other dogs but does not want to play with them as people are way more fun to be with. He has seen cats and showed no interest in them but has not be loose around them, we think with work he will be ok. Because we do not know his background with children if you do have kids we would want them to be in their teen years. Marco has good house manners, is house trained and crate trained but can be trusted on his own.

Our Adoption Process...

Adopting a German Shepherd Rescue of the Rockies Dog

We would like to thank you for visiting our website and considering one of our adoptable dogs to become your new family member. All of our dogs have been tossed aside for various reasons and our goal is to find them one last home where they can live out the rest of their lives with love and happiness. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we hope to be able to rescue many dogs every year. We place our dogs in a daycare facility so we can observe their social behavior and then into a foster home to learn house manners and teach them basic obedience. After we get to know our dogs we interview each candidate to find the right home that will fit each dog’s personality and needs. We will provide the necessary vet care, bring them up-to-date on vaccinations as well as spay or neuter our dogs. We will work with our rescue dogs that need a little help to trust and love people again, meanwhile improving their social behavior. We will stay involved and be there for each adopted dog for the duration of its life.

The adoption fee for our dogs is $300, which includes a veterinary heath examination, up-to-date vaccinations, a micro-chip, dogs will be spayed or neutered, they will come with a dog collar, and ID tag. Senior dog adoption fees will be posted separately for each dog.

If you see a dog on our website that you would like to meet, please fill out the Adoption Application and one of our volunteers will contact you.
