Phoebe's Story...
**IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ - Due to the nature of our adoption process, this foster is only able to consider forever families within 60 miles from zip code 75013. A vet reference and trial adoption will be done before the adoption is finalized. Thank you for your understanding.

My name is Phoebe, I am an adorable 8-month-old bundle of cuteness, and weight about 30 lbs. I love sitting on my foster mom's lap and playing with my friends, including people, other dogs and the occasional bird that I try to eat. I'd be happy in any household that’s full of affection and love. I'm still a puppy but I'm learning fast. I've learned how to sit, lay down, walk on a leash, and I even learned to use a doggy door just from visiting a friend’s house. Boy was it fun to play with their dog and chase her in and out of the house through that doggy door! My favorite game so far is fetch and I love to cuddle with stuffed animals. I am crate trained and house broken. If there is a doggy door, I use it to go outside and do my business all by myself. If there is no doggy door, I paw at the door to get people's attention so they know I need to go out. While I like to chew, it’s mostly on my toys, so if my new family has lots of toys for me, it shouldn't be an issue. Like any puppy, I have a lot of energy and love to play all day, but I also know how to relax and prefer to sleep belly up (I don’t know why my foster parents think me sleeping like that is so funny). I am already spayed, micro-chipped and current on vaccinations. If you want to meet me and think I might be the missing piece to complete your family, please fill out an application at furryfriendsanimalrescue.org and my foster mom will call you to plan a meet and greet. Can’t wait to hear from you!!!

Anyone interested in our dogs must be over 21. We are only able to adopt to homes within a reasonable driving distance of the dog's foster home (zip 75013) and please be prepared for a home visit by one of our volunteers. We do not adopt on first-come-first-served basis, we want to make sure the dog is right for the family and vice versa based on what we know about the dog's personality, habits and behaviors. Our adoption fee for dogs is $175.

You can complete an online adoption application on our website http://www.furryfriendsanimalrescue.org- we will get back with you asap.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Phoebe, a Plano Border Collie/Boston Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Boston Terrier for sale in Plano, or seeking a Border Collie/Boston Terrier dog from a breeder in Plano.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Plano already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Plano breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Boston Terrier breeders who help with Border Collie/Boston Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Plano paves the way for another one to be saved.
