Abby 'Adopted''s Story...

New Page 1

Abby is only a year old and such a sweetheart! Her mom is a single breed Red Bloodhound and her dad's
breed is a best guess and at first we thought Chocolate Lab but now we're geared
towards Weimaraner or maybe Pointer. Half the fun of having a mix is guessing what the mix is. Abby's a high energy girl and does have many Bloodhound characteristics like
following her nose. She's very smart, food motivated and a great fly catcher. She is house
trained, knows basic commands and rides well in the car. Abby gets along great with other dogs and loves people. She is fully vaccinated,
microchipped, spayed and ready for a forever home of her own.

Abby is being
fostered in Simcoe, Ontario with her sister Emily. If you
feel that your the family for Abby please fill out our on line adoption
application at

Bloodhounds require A SECURELY FENCED YARD.  Invisible/underground electric
fences don't work on these dogs.  They get a scent and are totally oblivious to
anything else around them.....including traffic.  Bloodhounds don't tie or chain
well either.  All of our dogs are adopted to be 'in-the-house' family members.

Bloodhounds are not for everyone,
they can't roam free and can't be walked off leash. Please learn more about the
breed from the website provide by our friends at the

Canadian Bloodhound Club

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abby 'Adopted', a Ontario Bloodhound/Weimaraner dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bloodhound/Weimaraner for sale in Ontario, or seeking a Bloodhound/Weimaraner dog from a breeder in Ontario.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ontario already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ontario breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bloodhound/Weimaraner breeders who help with Bloodhound/Weimaraner rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ontario paves the way for another one to be saved.
