Boomer ADOPTED's Story...

A Super Friendly Soul! Boomer is a 2-year-old Bluetick Coonhound. He is just an all around awesome dog wishing for a welcoming, forever home where he will be showered with lots of ear tugs and tummy rubs !!

Boomer has shown he is a very adorable and adoptable Hound. He walks well on a leash, and knows his basic commands of sit, lie down and shake.  He has come out of his shell and is quite cuddly and very playful with his 3 foster siblings.

He gets along great with other dogs, sharing toys easily. He lives up to his name with a wonderful Houndsong, greeting other dogs and visitors at the door with a friendly "bay" to announce his presence (or yours!).  Cats do not present a problem for him indoors, but he is naturally curious of them outdoors and would love to give chase if he were not leashed.

Boomer is an outdoor savvy dog, but he must be on a leash at all times as his curiosity would lead him astray. A secure fenced yard is an absolute must for Boomer. He doesn't require crating, as he behaves when left at home with the other dogs.  Boomer would be best suited to a home with other another dog for companionship.

As a young dog, it is important for any potential adopter to recognize and understand that Boomer will require your solid commitment to nurturing his good manners and making a connection with you via Training/Obedience Classes.  With your gentle and consistent guidance to direct his youthful energy appropriately, Boomer would make a SUPER family companion.

Please Note:   We are all volunteers and busy taking care of our foster dogs so please take the time to fill out our on-line adoption application if you are interested in more information about any of the hounds that we have for adoption. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Boomer ADOPTED, a Ontario Bluetick Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bluetick Coonhound for sale in Ontario, or seeking a Bluetick Coonhound dog from a breeder in Ontario.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ontario already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ontario breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bluetick Coonhound breeders who help with Bluetick Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ontario paves the way for another one to be saved.
