Lucy ADOPTED's Story...

Lucy arrived at Gentle Jake's as of June 14, 2014.   She is a young, friendly girl who loves being around people, soaking up all the love you can hand out.

She is settling in nicely with her foster family and living up to the name their son chose for her:  Lucy Good Doggie!   Lucy has been enjoying going on walks to the local park or romping about the family yard with her new best friend -Maggie.  She is enjoying the comfort of soft, plump cushions on the couch, having no trouble at all finding just the right spot to have a snooze.

Lucy does well around people of all ages, and gets along with other dogs and does not appear to be interested in chasing cats.  She travels very well in the car, settling down quickly in the rear seat and choosing to either watch the passing cars quietly, or  going  to sleep.  She appears to have had some basic training as she has had no accidents in the house since arriving and she walks quite well on leash.

It is important for any potential adopter to recognize and understand that Lucy will require your solid commitment to nurturing her good manners and making a connection with you via Training/Obedience Classes.  With your gentle and consistent guidance, and positive reinforcement, Lucy will make a WONDERFUL family companion.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy ADOPTED, a Ontario Bluetick Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bluetick Coonhound for sale in Ontario, or seeking a Bluetick Coonhound dog from a breeder in Ontario.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ontario already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ontario breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bluetick Coonhound breeders who help with Bluetick Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ontario paves the way for another one to be saved.
