Meeny is a sweet orange tabby with amazing gold eyes. He has turned into a total lap kitty who never wants his foster mom out of his sight. He loves to have his head and cheeks stroked and even likes his belly rubbed! Meeny loves to chase the little red dot and his tail!! He is looking for a nice, quiet home. Maybe you have the right spot for him on your lap! Meeny's favorite place is to sit is up high on his cat tree looking out the window at all the birds. When he meows you can hardly hear him, he has such a quiet voice. So soft and lovable is little Meeny. He and his three brothers were born about May 3, 2017, so he is 3 months old as of early August.

About Shelter Animals Rescue Group (SARG)

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small, all-volunteer, 501(c)3 nonprofit rescue group, with emphasis on mixed-breed dogs and cats. We adopt primarily from our local animal shelter, although we occasionally take in hardship cases. We also assist individuals in our area by advertising on our website animals they need to rehome, if the animals have been spayed/neutered. We gratefully accept donations, and we need volunteers for many events. More than anything, we need foster homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

As a volunteer group, we do not have a facility. Our animals reside in foster homes and boarding kennels. We show them regularly at the PetSmart store on Parkside Drive in Knoxville the second Friday of each month, 4 to 8 p.m., as well as by appointment.

Our Adoption Process...

Cat adoption fee is $125, and $145 for dogs. We attempt to match the animal's characteristics with the family and their lifestyle. We require an application form, which becomes part of the adoption contract, a personal or phone interview, veterinarian reference if applicable, home visit, and an additional agreement about how the animal will be treated. Cats must be indoors only, not declawed. Dogs must be fenced or leashed when outdoors and treated as part of the family--indoors as much as possible, and always at night. Adopter agrees to provide regular veterinary care, and to return the animal to us if they ever give it up. We reserve the right to check on the animal's welfare from time to time, with appropriate notice.
