Summer's Story...
Summer, a very cute Shih Tzu that spent approximately 4 years in a cage having puppies at a puppy mill, is now living the high life in a home with her foster family. She is extremely friendly and does really well for a girl who came from such a horrid situation. She was born 6/2012, weighs about 7 pounds, is spayed, had a dental, and her shots are up to date. Her little feet are a bit splayed from the wire floor of her "home" for all those years. If you would like more info on Summer, please send in your application to adopt and we will get back to you. http://chihuahuarescueofsandiego.com/adoption-application/

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Summer, a San Diego Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
