Mikey is a ten year-old German Shepherd / Collie mix who was brought to the shelter when his owner’s were moving to a new apartment that didn’t allow dogs. His foster family absolutely loves having this big lug of a dog in their home. He’s pleasant with everyone he meets, completely house trained and he has no interest in the other dogs or cat in the house.
Although he’s older, he loves going for walks, he pulls on the leash a little, but we think that’s because he’s not used to it, once he gets into a routine, he’ll settle down. He has the softest fur and the sweetest eyes. His fur is a little spotty right now, but that was due to a flea issue and now that the fleas are gone, it should clear up soon.
Will Mikey ever be able to run a marathon with you? No. Will he bounce around the house like a puppy? No. Will he be happy to see you when you walk in the door? Absolutely! Even though he’s older in age, it doesn’t mean this smart dog doesn’t deserve a home of his own to spend the rest of his life. He’s a wonderful, loyal and all around good dog who will be happy just to sit by your side. There’s not much more you could ask for in a dog, is there?
Mikey is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on his shots.
