My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Male, Long Hair Chihuahua, 9 yrs, 20 lbs.

House trained and crate trained.

Gene is the perfect companion, he is happiest when he is by your side. He is excellent with cats and dogs, he has not been around children but with his quiet nature I do not anticipate it being an issue. He rarely barks and is very laid back. Even though he is 9 years old he has a lot of energy. Gene is a bit over weight at arounds 20 lbs, so he needs lots of exercise and to monitor his intake. Since he has been in our home we have been taking him for walk 2-3 times a day, and his endurance has greatly improved. We have been working on basic commands such as sit, stay, come, down and up. He has learned them, but needs constant reinforcement of these commands. Gene is crate trained. We make sure every time he comes out of the crate we go outside for him to go to the bathroom. This has worked well for house training. Gene is an excellent dog and is low maintenance.
